(MoH) Starts Initial Stages of Health Survey for School Students

Event Start Date: 05 March 2018.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) conducts the health survey program for school students. A number of stakeholders has taken part in a training course that includes employees of Health Affairs Directorates in districts and provinces to train on the health survey program for male and female students, in cooperation with relevant agencies. According to MoH, the program aims to conduct a medical examination of students in first and fourth primary grades, first graders in intermediate and secondary schools. Through the training course, MoH seeks to train health cadres on tests in the health survey program for students, as well as exchanging expertise and overcoming challenge to the application of the health survey program for school students. .

The course includes a briefing on the importance of medical tests and referrals in the school age, benefits of immunizations in the school age, calculating body mass and its indication, checking eye sight, spine curvature, dental examination and fluoride application. The course also tackles skills of early detection of smoking in the school age and how to deal with it, learning difficulties, early detection of hyperactivity disorder, attention deficit, roles and responsibilities as well as detection of depression and addiction among adults.

Community Empowerment (Participate in Formulation of Health Problems and Priority-Setting)

​The Ministry of Health (MOH) has launched the Community Empowerment Initiative, which aims to empower community members in the health promotion process by giving them a leadership role in determining the health problems they face in the district, prioritizing, making decisions, and working side by side with the district healthcare center to boost the pioneering role of primary health care. This care aims primarily to promote the self-care concept among community members, in line with the National Transformation Program's​ initiatives of the Saudi Vision 2030.

You can find out the nearest community empowerment teams at healthcare centers with such teams. Then, you can just contact or visit the health center in your district or the nearest one to you for joining these teams as a member or a volunteer. Also, you can be briefed on the projects and activities of those teams, as well as communicating with them via hashtag: #We_Opened_Doors (#فتحنا_الأبواب in Arabic) on Twitter.

ELEVATE PX 2022

Event Start Date: 01 July 2022.

To support the consistent and continuous development of patient experience professionals, ELEVATE PX is excited to offer up to 23.25 Patient Experience Continuing Education (PXE), AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM (CME for MD and DOs), Other learners using AMA designated certificates (PAs, NPs and Nurses), NAHQ and Social Work credits to qualifying participants. To qualify, participants must complete a post-event CE survey verifying their participation within 30 days of the completed event. Certificates must be claimed by June 30.

MOH Participates in Riyadh International Book Fair

MOH participates in Riyadh International Book Fair, currently held in Riyadh, with a special pavilion for “Wa3i” Awareness Award which the Ministry organizes for the second consecutive time, in order to shed light on the award and its new categories and to attract participants. Registration can be made on the official website via this number: Y18. ​ It is noteworthy that the award aims to promote the community’s health awareness, capitalize on the potential of youths and boost partnership between the community and all awareness stakeholders across the Kingdom and the GCC states.

The Award allows individuals to participate in any of its five different categories, including: short awareness film, infographic design, motion graphic design, photography, and Snape Chat. Winners will receive cash prizes starting with SR 150,000 for short film winners. Also, both public and private schools in the Kingdom can participate through a short film on any health topic. So, the first winner school will receive a cash prize of SR 100,000. MoH: Contest for Schools in “Wa3i” Award Second Season

Event Start Date: 06 March 2018.

In collaboration with the National Commercial Bank, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has designated a contest for public and private schools (both male and female campuses) across the Kingdom in the “Wa3i” Awareness Award in its second season. In so doing, MoH seeks to all school staff, including teachers and students, to create a spirit of competition and to foster school health in a creative way. According to MoH, schools can participate through a short film not exceeding 3 minutes; which creatively handles any health topic, or presents a health experience organized by the school. This will in turn enhance health awareness in the community in general, ans in schools in particular.

In that vein, the suggested topics includes: Healthy food, physical exercise, oral and dental health, obesity, smoking, soft drinks, use of smart devices, lifestyles of students and health awareness of teachers; in order to boost health awareness, foster healthy behaviors by both students and teachers. MoH has allocated 10 award ranks, where the first winner school receives SR 100,000, the second SR 70,000, the third SR 60,000, the fourth SR 40,000, the fifth SR 25,000, while from the sixth to 10th winners will receive SR 10,000. It is noted that school participation features a competition category in “Wa3i” Award in its second season.
